Prudence Caldwell

Prudence grew up in Newcastle Australia where she trained under the guidance of Marie Walton-Mahon. After being the outright winner of the Sydney Senior Ballet scholarship, receiving her Solo Seal Award from The Royal Academy of Dance and a silver medal at the Genee International Ballet competition, Prudence moved to Melbourne to attend the Australian Ballet School. Graduating with an Advance Diploma In Dance, Prudence’s Career has taken her around the world with companies including, The Australian Ballet’s Dancers company, The Queensland Ballet, The Royal New Zealand Ballet, Hong Kong Ballet and many leading European ballet companies, performing numerous soloist roles and contemporary pieces with world renowned Choreographers.  . During her time overseas Prudence was scouted by the world renowned Cirque Du Soleil company where she went on to train and work in Las Vegas with Cirque du Soleil and the Sandou Trio in aerial and contortion arts. Travelling the world performing in the show "Two "Worlds", Stretching daily became paramount and a fundamental basis to maintain the flexibility required for such a strenuous physical vocation and to prevent Injury and fatigue.

It was during her time as a professional ballerina/aerialist/Contortionist that Prudence created The Prudence Caldwell Stretch Method. 

 

The Prudence Caldwell Stretch Method focuses on Safe Stretching and breathing techniques with correct alignment to educate dancers and teachers globally,  a vital tool for every student to learn the importance of stretching to prevent Injuries and muscle fatigue whilst gaining more flexibility.

 

Prudence returned to Australia in 2017 where she is now teaching regular classes in Flexibility, Core Strength, Technique and Artistry,  along with the ever so popular aerial silks and Lyra classes at her private coaching clinic in Wickham NSW. She also regularly guest teachers and adjudicates prestigious competitions, such as The Sydney Eisteddfod Senior Ballet scholarship 2017, Sydney Eisteddfod Group and Solo Events 2018,2019, The Brisbane Eisteddfod Ballet scholarship 2017, Joan and Monica Halliday Awards 2018, McDonald's Collage- Ann McDonald Ballet scholarship 2019, Emerald Eisteddfod 2019 and many more in the near future. 

 

Prudence is also the founding director of the  Summer Masterclass series held each January in Newcastle.
